Defensive Reads
Key the single high safety before the snap, since PA Cheat Post Comeback is designed to exploit Cover 1 and Cover 3 looks where he has to cover the post alone. Watch linebacker depth at the snap, if they step up hard on the run fake it confirms they are vulnerable to the play-action and the post window will open behind them. Use this call on early downs, first and second and short to medium, when the defense is more likely to load the box or play aggressive run fits out of Pistol looks.
Motion pre-snap if available and watch how the defense adjusts, since a linebacker or safety following the motion man confirms man coverage and tells you the post has a favorable angle.
Pair this play with Cheat HB Zone or Wheel Switch earlier in a drive so the defense respects the run fake, then dial up PA Cheat Post Comeback once they start creeping linebackers into the box.
If you see two deep safeties pre-snap, be ready to check down to the comeback route instead of forcing the post into a Cover 2 shell.
