Breakdown

Cheat Bunch Switch Flood is a three-level flood concept out of the bunch alignment, designed to stretch one side of the field vertically and attack Cover 3 shells. Pre-snap motion adjusts the bunch spacing and creates a switch release at the snap, which confuses man defenders trying to sort assignments off the trips look. The primary read progression works high to low: start with the deep corner or flag route, work down to the intermediate out or flat sit route, and finish with the underneath flat option if the defense rolls a safety over the top.

Defensive Reads

Pre-snap, check safety depth and alignment, a single high safety indicates Cover 3 or Cover 1 which this flood concept is built to exploit Watch the flat defender at the snap, if he sinks with the corner route instead of jumping the flat it opens the underside for the sit route Man coverage defenders will often collide or trail late off the bunch switch release, look for natural rub separation on the first two steps Blitz packages that send extra rushers off the edge leave the flood underneath open quickly, so be ready to work the checkdown against nano blitz pressure Cover 4 or two high shells with a hard trail corner can shut this down by taking away the deep flood route, so be ready to reset to your backside hot route or check to a different concept in the set

Usage Tips

Use the pre-snap motion to identify if the defense is playing man or zone, if the bunch defenders shift or bump with the motion man it is almost always man coverage

Attack Cover 3 by working your eyes to the deep flood route first since the flat corner cannot cover three levels at once

Hot route the backside receiver into a quick out or drag if you see single high safety rotation to give yourself a fast checkdown against blitz looks

Pair this play with Mtn Bunch Drive or Mtn Bunch Cross Dig in the same set so the defense has to respect both the vertical flood and the horizontal crossing concepts from the same bunch look

Best called on second or third and medium when you need a explosive gain but still want a safe underneath answer built into the concept
