Pre snap, check safety depth and alignment, if both safeties are shaded slightly forward or shuffled toward the box that is a tell for this blitz even with the disguise Post snap, key on the two edge defenders shown crashing downhill immediately after the snap, they are the primary pressure source and will not be in coverage Watch the three underneath defenders dropping to shallow zone landmarks, they will jump quick hitters, slants, and shallow crossers so avoid the middle of the field on early route concepts This look is vulnerable to quick game and hot routes into the vacated intermediate zones once the safeties commit, so if the offense recognizes it fast enough a slot fade or seam route behind the blitzing safety is the counter Max protect and check release concepts neutralize this pressure entirely, forcing the extra rushers to be picked up and giving the quarterback time to find the seam vacated by the blitzing safeties

Usage Tips

Call this on early downs or third and medium when you expect the offense to be in a standard drop back shell rather than max protect, since a six or seven man protection can pick up both safety blitzers easily

Disguise the blitz by aligning the safeties at normal depth pre snap and delaying their trigger until just after the snap so the quarterback cannot get a pre snap alert or hot route in time

Pair this call with Cover 6 Willie or Cover 3 Sky earlier in a series so the offense sees a similar shell and cannot key on safety depth to diagnose the blitz

Use user control on one of the blitzing safeties to attack the weak side of a bootleg or rollout, since the underneath zone defenders are already accounted for by the drop assignments shown in the diagram

Avoid calling this against empty or five wide sets where both safeties blitzing leaves too few defenders to cover the extra vertical stems
