Franchise Playsheet
The Wide Slot playbook is a 31 play franchise situational playsheet built entirely out of Shotgun. Every snap (100% of the sheet) comes from Shotgun across just two sets, and every play uses 11 personnel (1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR). That makes it one of the most concentrated offensive sheets in the game, even though it is larger than 59% of the 42 offensive franchise playsheets. You are not getting formation variety here. You are getting depth inside one spread look.
The menu leans on a balanced gun run game: Dive, Power, Counter Y, Inside Zone and Read Option all come out of the same alignment. It pairs that with Play Action, Option Route concepts and quick Hitch and Out throws. The design goal is simple: force the defense to respect a downhill run from a three receiver spread, then punish light boxes and flat defenders with play action and quick game. Because the look never changes, the defense cannot read run or pass from the formation.
Choose the Wide Slot playbook if you want a disciplined, repeatable 11 personnel identity in franchise mode. It gives you a real ground game from spread spacing without subbing packages, and a short passing tree that keeps the chains moving. What you give up is the formation diversity that lets other books change the picture pre snap.
The Wide Slot playbook wants a mobile quarterback who can threaten the edge on Read Option and deliver quick Hitch and Out throws on time, plus a back with vision for Inside Zone and the burst to hit Power and Counter Y lanes. A quick slot receiver who wins at the break and a tight end who can both block on the play side and leak out on Play Action are what make the single 11 personnel look work. Pick it if you prefer a spread, rhythm based offense with one repeatable identity over a book full of formation changes and personnel subs.

Build your base audible package around the two Shotgun sets with one run from each family: Inside Zone for neutral downs, Power or Counter Y for gap scheme, and Read Option to punish an edge that crashes.
On 1st and 10, lean on Inside Zone and Dive to establish the run from 11 personnel, then check to Play Action off the same Shotgun look on 2nd and short when linebackers start triggering downhill.
On 3rd and 4 to 7, call Hitch, Out or Option Route concepts and hot route your slot based on leverage: out against inside leverage, hitch against deep off coverage.
On 3rd and 1 or 4th and short, favor Power or Counter Y over Dive since this sheet has no heavy formation, and consider Read Option if the defense loads the interior and leaves the edge player responsible for both the back and the quarterback.
When the defense sits in nickel and blitzes, flip protection toward the pressure and audible to a quick Out so the ball is out before the rush arrives in your fixed Shotgun launch point.
