Wide Slot Right WK is a 3x1 leaning look built off 11 personnel where the slot receiver is widened well off the numbers to the right, creating a stretched trips side while the single receiver isolates left. The WK tag means the wing/wide alignment pulls the slot away from the core, which changes how defenses have to distribute their zone drops compared to tighter Shotgun sets like Y-Off or standard Slot. Instead of a compressed release window, your slot gets a clean two way go against apex defenders who now have to cover more grass to reach the flat or the seam.
The alignment forces a pre-snap declaration from the defense. If the defense apexes a linebacker out to the widened slot, you are effectively removing a run fitter from the box and the HB Draw, Inside Zone Split, and Counter Y all attack lighter numbers. If the defense stays base and lets a safety rotate, you get a clear read on the single receiver side for the glance and choice concepts. RPO Glance Bubble and the two Mtn RPO variants (QB Draw, QB Power) turn that leverage read into a one look decision, which is exactly why this set shows up in RPO heavy books.
Concept variety here is unusually broad for a single set. You get true dropback progressions in Mtn Post Curls, Curls, and Strong Flood, quick rhythm throws with Slant Swing and Mtn Z In, high level man beaters in Mtn Slot Cross and PA Deep Choice, and gadget layers with Mtn Double Pass and HB Slip Screen. The 3DRB tag matters because your receiving back is a legitimate route runner out of the backfield, so the swing and screen game is not just a checkdown, it is a designed answer to blitz pressure.
Read the apex defender pre-snap. If a linebacker widens to the slot, check to HB Draw or Inside Zone Split and attack the lighter box. If the defense stays base, throw the bubble or glance.
Use Slant Swing on early downs to establish rhythm, then come back to Mtn Slot Cross on third down once the defense starts jumping the quick game.
Hot route the isolated receiver to a streak or fade on Mtn Post Curls and Curls to occupy the deep defender and open the curl windows underneath.
Motion the wide slot back toward the formation to check for man coverage. If a defender travels, go to Mtn Slot Cross or PA Deep Choice. If nobody follows, stay in the zone beaters.
Save Mtn Double Pass and HB Slip Screen for obvious blitz tells or after you have shown heavy dropback from this set, and keep your 3DRB in the game so the screen blocking and route running hold up.
