Switch is a four verticals concept out of Singleback Doubles Y Off Close that attacks all three levels of the defense with vertical stems. The left side runs a scissors concept where the outside receiver and slot cross paths early, with the outside receiver breaking into a corner route and the slot climbing into a post, while the right side has the inline TE running a seam or streak up the numbers and the outside receiver working an outside vertical release into a go route. The HB stays in to block or check release underneath. Defensive Reads

Diagnose the safety shell before the snap, if you see two high safeties hold flat with room to sink deep, this play is designed to split them with the post and seam combo.

Against single high safety looks, prioritize the corner route or the backside go since the deep half will be occupied by the crossing concept on the near side.

Use the seam route from the TE as a hot read versus Cover 2 or Cover 4 shells because the void between the flat defender and deep safety opens quickly.

Best called on second or third and long when you need a explosive gain, since all four routes take time to develop and the HB rarely gets out in a route.
