Divide is a play-action flood concept out of Singleback Bunch Ace that attacks all three levels of the field on one side while holding a wheel route as a home run option to the boundary. From the bunch, the outside receiver runs a deep go, the middle receiver breaks into a quick out, and the inside receiver releases on a wheel route up the sideline, while the backside receiver runs a corner style route toward the numbers and the running back leaks out on a flat route away from the flood. The blocking scheme sells run action up front to hold the defense before the QB works his flood side progression, reading the deep go first, the wheel as the vertical bail out, and the underneath out and flat as check downs against a hard closing defense.

Defensive Reads

Key the middle linebacker and safety depth at the snap to diagnose if they are biting on the run fake, which tells you if the play action window is open. Against Cover 3, look for the deep third defender to the trips side, since the go and wheel routes are designed to stress that single defender vertically.
