Defensive Reads

Fast flowing linebackers who diagnose zone read quickly can string out the run, so respect their pursuit angle before committing to the keep.

Usage Tips

Presnap identify the alley or slot defender responsible for the bubble, that defender's leverage tells you the read before the snap even happens.

If the defense is showing an overhang or slot corner sitting hard outside, key on pulling the ball and hitting the bubble quickly for easy yards.

If the box is light and the alley defender bails or widens too far, trust the zone read give to the HB for a clean rushing lane.

Use this play on early downs to stay ahead of the chains, since it forces the defense to declare and gives you a low risk conversion tool.

Pair this with Same Side Zone and Inside Zone from the same set so the defense has to respect the run fake, making the bubble RPO hit even harder on later downs.
