This shell shuts down flood concepts and stick routes because the flat defenders and hook defenders create a natural bracket, but it is vulnerable to seam routes splitting the two safeties if the middle hook defender gets picked off by a crossing route. Watch linebacker depth at the snap, if the middle zone defender sits too shallow the offense can float a throw over the top into the seam before the safety can rotate over, so be ready to user that hook defender deeper against play-action seam shots.
