NFL Live Jets Defense is functionally the same book as Jets Defense. The two cuts share all 337 plays and differ by 0 sets, so anything you lab, audible or build a package around in one carries straight over to the other. Pick whichever label shows up in your mode and do not expect a hidden wrinkle. At 337 plays across 8 formations and 24 sets, it sits almost exactly in the middle of the game's 64 defensive team playbooks, larger than 48% of them. That means it has enough depth to run a real audible tree, but you will not find endless alignment variety in every package.
The identity is sub package coverage. Nickel carries 132 plays (39%) across 9 sets, the widest set menu in the book. Dime adds 81 plays (24%) packed into just 3 sets, so roughly 63% of the playbook lives in five and six defensive back looks. The coverage menu backs that up with Cover 1, Cover 1 Hole, Cover 3 Match, Cover 4, Quarters, Cover 6 and Cover 2, plus Blitz and LB Blitz tags. Plays like Cover 1 Robber Press, Cover 1 Contain and 1 Double Slot show how much of the book is built on man and match rules against spread sets.
The 3-4 is the true base front with 57 plays (17%) across 4 sets. The 4-3 is a thinner change up at 27 plays in 2 sets. The rest is situational: Goal Line Defense (13 plays, 3 sets), Dollar (12), 4-4 (9) and Prevent (6), each in a single set outside Goal Line. The game plan it supports is simple. Match 11 personnel with Nickel, flood passing downs with Dime and Dollar disguises, and only go to the 3-4 when the offense brings extra tight ends or backs.
Scheme Fit
NFL Live Jets Defense wants a secondary deep enough to live in five and six defensive back personnel. That means at least three corners who can press and mirror in Cover 1, plus a rangy safety who can play robber or the hole defender. Up front you need edge rushers who win one on one, because much of the pressure comes from four man rushes and LB Blitz tags rather than heavy fronts. Pick this book if you are a coverage first player who reads 11 personnel spread offenses and wants deep Nickel and Dime menus. If you want to line up in a four down base front and stuff the run, look elsewhere.

Strengths
- Nickel runs 132 plays across 9 sets, so you can stay in one personnel grouping against 11 personnel and still rotate alignments, fronts and pressure looks. The offense cannot read coverage off the formation, and you avoid giving away tendencies with constant formation subs.
- The coverage spread inside Nickel and Dime covers Cover 1, Cover 1 Hole, Cover 3 Match, Cover 4, Quarters, Cover 6 and Cover 2. That lets you build man beater and zone beater answers into the same package: press man with a robber on one call, split field Cover 6 or Quarters on the next, all from the same pre snap shell.
- Dime holds 81 plays in only 3 sets, so each set has deep call menus. You can live in one Dime look on third down and toggle between Cover 1, match zones and LB Blitz without the alignment changing, which makes it hard for an opponent to hot route off your look.
- A real 3-4 base with 57 plays across 4 sets gives you a legitimate answer to 12 and 21 personnel without leaving the book. You can keep an edge setting outside linebacker front against heavier sets while your Nickel and Dime packages handle everything else.
- Dollar, Prevent and the Big Quarter 3-1-7 grouping give you seven defensive back personnel for third and very long or end of half. Many middle sized books never reach that far.
Weaknesses
- The 4-3 is thin at 27 plays in 2 sets. If you prefer a four down front with even spacing against the run, you only get a small menu, and a good opponent will pick up on the repeated alignments quickly.
- Around 63% of the book lives in Nickel and Dime. An opponent who stays in 11 or 10 personnel and pounds inside zone or power can keep you in lighter boxes, especially if you are slow to sub into the 3-4.
- Dime concentrates 81 plays into 3 sets. The call menu is deep, but the visual looks are limited, so a patient opponent can learn your third down alignments and pre set hot routes or slide protections against the pressure side.
- Short yardage depth is shallow. The 4-4 is a single set with 9 plays and Goal Line Defense has 13 plays across 3 sets, so heavy personnel teams on fourth and one or inside the five will see the same few fronts every trip.
- Dollar and Prevent are each one set, 12 and 6 plays. Your seven defensive back calls are predictable, and opponents running drag and dig combos underneath can take free yardage when they recognize the shell.
Usage Tips
Build your base audible package in Nickel and treat it as your first and second down default against 11 personnel. Use the 9 sets to rotate a Cover 1 Robber Press call, a Cover 3 Match call and a Cover 4 or Quarters call so the shell never tells the offense your rules.
On third and 5 or longer, move to Dime and pick one of its 3 sets as your home look. Load Cover 1, Cover 1 Hole, Cover 6 and an LB Blitz into that set's audibles so you can check coverages pre snap without changing personnel.
When the offense shows 12, 21 or 22 personnel on early downs, sub into the 3-4 instead of staying in Nickel. Pair a Cover 3 Match call with a blitz look, and have your user on the edge set the run so the base front does its job.
Save the 4-4 set and Goal Line Defense for third or fourth and 2 or less and red zone snaps inside the five. Because the menus are small, mix in Cover 1 Contain type calls so a mobile quarterback cannot beat you by bouncing wide.
On third and 12 or longer, and in two minute situations, reach for Dollar. At the end of halves, go to Prevent with the Big Quarter 3-1-7 grouping. Before the snap, user the middle hole defender to jump drag and dig routes, because the underneath windows are the obvious target.
