I Form Hulk is the heaviest look inside the I Form family, running 22 personnel with two tight ends attached to the line, a fullback stacked in front of the halfback, and a single receiver split out wide. Where I Form Tight or I Form Close still give you a two receiver surface and legitimate four verticals spacing, Hulk collapses the formation into an eight man box challenge. You are telling the defense to bring bodies down, and the play list (FB Dive, HB Iso, HB Power O, HB Counter Wk) is built to punish them when they do it out of a two high shell.
Read the safeties before anything else: two high with the corners bailing means run it, single high with an extra hat in the box means check to a pass or motion the tight end to change the numbers.
