Tight Flex Offset is a Shotgun 11 personnel set that tightens the formation down compared to spread looks like Shotgun Trips or Shotgun Wing Slot. You get a tight end flexed just off the tackle, a receiver split wide to each side, a slot receiver working inside the numbers, and the back offset next to the quarterback rather than directly behind him. That offset alignment is the tell that matters: it gives you a clean screen release to one side and a natural downhill run path to the other, so the same alignment supports HB Slip Screen, HB Draw, 0 1 Trap, and Inside Zone without changing personnel.
The flexed tight end is the core of the set. Because he is aligned in the gray area between the tackle and the slot, defenses have to declare whether they are covering him with a linebacker (a mismatch you attack with Mtn H-Texas, Mtn Fk H-Angle, and Slot Outs H-Angle) or a nickel defender (which opens the run game and the flat concepts underneath). Against a linebacker walked out on the flex, the H-option routes on Mtn Choice and Mtn Fork Y-Corner turn into instant wins.
Concept-wise this is a mid-level and intermediate passing set built on high-percentage triangles. Spot Shake, Mesh Spot, and Dragon Spacing give you man beaters with built-in rub action, Mtn Spot Dig and Mtn Dagger H-Choice attack Cover 3 and Cover 4 through the seams and the dig window, and PA Switch Verts is the shot play that punishes users who sit hard on the underneath spacing. The tags tell the story of the personnel: a 3DRB and Power HB profile on the same set means you can run gap scheme and catch screens out of identical looks, and the SLWR tag lets you put your best slot separator on the inside route in every one of these concepts.
Read the flex defender first. Linebacker on the tight end means go to the H-option plays (Mtn H-Texas, Mtn Fk H-Angle, Mtn Choice). Nickel on the flex means run 0 1 Trap or Inside Zone at the light box.
On third and 5 to 8, Mesh Spot and Spot Shake are your money calls. Hot route the back to a flat or angle for a guaranteed man beater against a mugged look.
Against Cover 3 and Cover 6 shells, call Mtn Spot Dig or Mtn Dagger H-Choice and work the dig window after the vertical clears the deep third. Do not force the spot route when the curl defender squats.
Mix HB Draw and HB Slip Screen early against blitz-heavy opponents to slow the rush, then come back with PA Switch Verts once they stop shooting gaps.
Block the back on the option route plays when you see double A gap, or motion your slot receiver out to widen the nickel and open the trap lane inside.
