Defensive Reads

Delayed blitzes or contain rushers who stay disciplined on the edge instead of pursuing vertically are the biggest threat to shutting this play down.

Call this play when you see pre-snap blitz indicators such as linebackers creeping to the line or a nano blitz alignment, since the delayed release baits the rush upfield.
Use it on early downs like first or second and ten to keep the defense honest and set up explosive plays later in the drive.

Watch your offensive line release timing before throwing, since throwing too early into a blitz can result in a negative play if blockers have not gotten outside.
