Post-snap, key the number two receiver on both sides, if he releases vertically past 8 yards the corner and safety on that side should bracket him in classic quarters match rules, if he breaks off into a shorter route the safety can rob other underneath windows. Look for blitz packages disguised behind this shell, if you see linebackers creeping late or slot corners showing blitz, expect a Cover 4 Palms or man match rotation rather than true quarters, which changes where the soft spots appear in the coverage.
Check the offensive formation pre-snap and if you see stacked or bunch receivers with two backs, expect play-action or RPO looks that this shell handles well since the safeties stay deep regardless of run fakes.
Use the flat defenders and underdneath zone droppers to jump quick game throws like slants and flat routes, then user the deep safety to the field side to erase any go route or post that tries to split the seams.
Pair this call with Cover 6 or Cover 6 Invert on early downs to disguise your shell, then bring Cover 4 Quarters on third and medium when offenses expect man coverage and try to attack with double moves.
