Primary read progression starts with the Mike and Sam linebackers reading run or pass, then flows to the flat defender jumping any quick hitters before the deep thirds settle into their zones.
Pre-snap, check safety alignment, if both safeties are deep it likely signals a two high shell disguise before rotating into this Sky look, so confirm with the strong safety cheat toward the box. Watch the cornerback depth at the snap, if they open their hips to run with a vertical route too early they can lose outside contain versus double moves like a sluggo. Post snap, key the strong safety flat drop, quarterbacks will often target the seam or the void behind him if he jumps the flat route too aggressively.
