Drive Out lines up out of Shotgun Tight Offset TE with 11 personnel and shows a five man route concept designed to attack Cover 4 shells. The backside runs a deep vertical clearout paired with a drive/dig combo underneath, while the frontside stacks a corner route with an out breaking route and a flat route to create a natural high low read against the numbers defender. The primary progression starts with the corner to out combo on the strong side, works down to the drive/dig crossing underneath, and finishes with the flat route as a checkdown against pressure.
Defensive Reads
Watch for two high safeties pre-snap, this signals Cover 4 or Cover 2 and tells you the out and corner combo will have room to work. If the cornerback is playing off with outside leverage, the out route sits down in the void for an easy pitch and catch. Post-snap, identify any user controlled defender sinking into the flat, that lurk threat can jump the out route and bait a turnover if the quarterback stares it down. Look for linebackers spying the middle of the field, a heavy zone drop underneath can clog the drive route and force the quarterback to hold the ball. Man coverage with an inside linebacker on the drive route is a green light, the route stem creates instant separation and beats trail coverage every time.

Key on the flat defender first, if he sits on the flat route the out breaking route behind him is a walk in completion.
Use the drive route across the middle as your answer against man coverage, it clears underneath linebackers and creates natural separation against trail technique.
Hot route the backside vertical into a shorter comeback if you see single high safety rotation to speed up your reads and avoid holding the ball too long.
