Bunch TE Wk is Shotgun's compressed 11 personnel look that stacks three receivers into a tight cluster to the weak side with the tight end attached inside the bunch, leaving a single receiver isolated on the strong side. Where standard Shotgun spread sets stretch the defense horizontally and force the coverage to declare early, Bunch TE Wk forces the defense to sort traffic in a phone booth. Defenders playing man have to navigate through releases and route crossings, and defenders playing zone have to communicate pattern matching rules inside a five yard box. The tight end alignment inside the bunch is what separates this set from a standard trips or Y-Flex look: he can chip and release, work as an extra body on HB Draw and Duo, or run the underneath rub concepts that make Mesh Mills and Mtn Snag Under so hard to cover.
The play sheet is built around three families. The Mountain concepts (Mtn Divide, Mtn Divide X-Under, Mtn Escort HB Base, Mtn Escort Insert X-Out, Mtn Escort PA Slide, Mtn Flood H-Sneak, Mtn Snag Under) give you flood and divide structures that attack Cover 3 and Cover 4 by putting three levels on one side while the isolated receiver holds the backside corner. The Mesh family (Mesh Mills, Mesh X-Post, Mesh Slot Deep) is your primary man beater package, since the natural crossing action inside the bunch creates legal traffic that man defenders in Madden struggle to shed. Spacing and Spacing X-Wheel are your zone answers, dropping receivers into open grass against soft shells and giving you an easy completion on third and medium.
The matchup advantage comes from the isolation side. Because three receivers occupy the weak side, defenses usually leave the strong side receiver in single coverage with no help, which turns Mesh X-Post and Spacing X-Wheel into one on one shot plays against whatever corner the defense parks there. Meanwhile the compressed side gives you leverage on nickel and safety bodies that have to fit into tight windows. HB Slip Screen, HB Draw, RPO Read Bubble, and Duo keep the run and screen game alive out of the same look, and the Gadget and 3DRB tags mean your backfield personnel should be a pass catching back who can win on the Escort and Slide concepts.
Read the defender over the isolated receiver pre-snap: if he is in outside leverage with no safety help, take the one on one with a hot routed streak or slant instead of working the bunch.
Use Mesh Mills and Mesh X-Post when you diagnose man coverage on the pre-snap shift, and use Spacing or Spacing X-Wheel when the defense drops into a soft shell with two high safeties.
Block your back or slide protection toward the bunch side before the snap when you suspect nano pressure, since the compressed alignment offers less help than a spread set.
Save HB Slip Screen and RPO Read Bubble for down and distances where the defense expects a dropback pass, especially second and long after you have shown Mountain concepts.
Motion the outside bunch receiver across the formation to confirm man or zone, then check to Mtn Snag Under against zone or Mesh Slot Deep against man.
