Attack base 4-3 and 3-4 fronts where the defensive ends are sealed by tackles and the counter pullers can get a clean angle on the linebackers.

Snap the ball as soon as the motion man sets to prevent user defenders from jumping the counter action with a diagnosed run blitz.

Pair this with Counter Y or Mtn Counter Lt in the same set to keep defenders guessing on the direction of the pullers, then mix in HB Dive or Inside Zone Split from the same formation to punish overaggressive linebacker fills.

Best used on early downs or short yardage when the defense is stacking the box expecting a passing look, since the Pistol alignment can bait nickel or dime packages into light fronts.
