PA Y Throwback is a play-action shot play out of I Form Slot Close that sells the outside run fake before working the tight end back across the field on a deep crossing throwback route. The backfield action pulls linebackers and safeties toward the strong side, opening up the Y route as it breaks against the grain of the fake, while the outside receivers run vertical clear-out routes to occupy the corners and a deep safety.
