Franchise Playsheet
Run N Shoot Gun is a 30 play situational playsheet that never leaves Shotgun. Every single call comes out of one formation family spread across two sets, all of it in 10 personnel (1 RB, 0 TE, 4 WR). That is the entire identity: four receivers, a single back, and a quarterback who never takes a snap under center. Instead of giving you a formation menu to hunt through, it hands you one look and asks you to win with route distribution, pre-snap motion, and the threat of running the ball out of an empty-ish box.
The concept list is narrower than a full team book but it is deliberately balanced for a run and shoot shell. You get Trap, Power Run, and Dive as the interior ground package, which matter more than they look on paper because 10 personnel pulls a defender out of the box before the ball is snapped. On the pass side it is Flood, Go, Corner, Out, Drag, and Wheel, plus Play Action layered on top. That is a clean split between zone beaters (Flood, Corner, Out sitting in the void) and man beaters (Drag, Wheel, Go on an isolated slot). 45 Quick Base is the kind of call that anchors the sheet: a fast hitting interior run that punishes a defense that lightened the box to match four receivers.
Choosing Run N Shoot Gun over a broader franchise book means trading formation variety for tempo and repetition. Because you are in one formation the whole game, your motions, hot routes, and receiver alignments carry all the disguise, and you can no huddle out of a completed pass straight into a Trap or Dive without ever tipping personnel. Players who want to run 30 plays that all look identical at the snap and differ only in route assignment will get more out of this sheet than players who like to swap between heavy sets and spread sets to move the defense around.
Run N Shoot Gun wants four legitimate receivers with separation and a quarterback who can read the flat defender quickly and escape when protection breaks down, since 10 personnel offers no extra blocker. The back needs to be a genuine receiving threat for the Wheel concept and tough enough to run Trap, Power Run, and Dive into a nickel box, and the interior line has to win one on one without tight end help. Pick this playbook if you want one alignment, fast tempo, and a route heavy game plan, and avoid it if your roster is built around a blocking tight end or a power run identity that needs under center looks.
Search every playbook by tag and personnel grouping, not just Run N Shoot Gun.
Build your audible package entirely inside the two Shotgun sets, pairing one Trap or Dive call, one Flood or Corner call, and one Drag call so you have a run, a zone beater, and a man beater on the same alignment.
On first and ten, open with 45 Quick Base or another interior run to force the defense to commit a safety down, then run Play Action from the same set on the next first down.
On third and long, go to Flood or Corner and read the flat defender first, since four wide forces defenses into zone matches that leave the sideline void open.
Against man coverage in third and medium, hot route the slot to a Drag and send the back on a Wheel, which is the cleanest rub combination this sheet offers without changing formation.
Use motion every single snap to identify man versus zone, because with one formation the motion tell is your only pre-snap read and it costs you nothing in alignment.
