Usage Tips
Disguise this call by showing a two-high shell before the snap and rotating the safety down late to keep the quarterback guessing on whether it is Cover 1 or Cover 2.
Use press man on the outside corners against smaller slot receivers or possession backs who struggle to separate off the line, and user the robber defender manually to jump any crossing route or dig concept.
Pair this play with Cover 2 Man or Cover 2 Invert from the same set to keep quarterbacks off balance between single-high and two-high shells while still showing similar pre-snap alignment.
Call this on third and medium or third and long when you expect a drag, slant, or crosser combo, since the robber is specifically designed to sit on those routes.
Avoid this call against heavy four verticals or spread formations that can flood the middle robber zone with multiple deep threats, since the single-high safety has no help over the top on double moves.
