Playbooks

Y Trips Offset Wk puts three receivers to the weak side with the halfback offset away from the strength, which is the detail that separates it from standard Y Trips looks in Shotgun. The "Wk" tag means the trips bunch stacks to the left of the formation in most playbooks while the back sets to the opposite hip, so the running back release, the swing route, and the slip screen all attack the vacated side of the field. Personnel is 11 (1 RB 1 TE), with the tight end aligned as the Y inside the trips cluster rather than attached to the line, giving you a big-body slot target working against nickel corners and dime defenders instead of a boundary corner.
The alignment forces the defense to declare early. If they rotate strength to the trips, the single receiver on the backside gets isolated on an island, which is why the SLWR tag matters here: your best route runner can be flipped to the solo side and worked with a hot route streak or a slant against press man. If the defense stays balanced and plays two-high, the three-receiver side wins with spacing concepts like Stick and Mtn Z Spot, because zone defenders have to cover more grass than there are bodies to cover it.
The play list is built for a full down-and-distance rotation rather than a single concept. Inside Zone, Outside Zone, and Read Option keep the box honest with the back offset, HB Draw and HB Slip Screen punish aggressive pass rush and user blitzes, and Four Verticals, Sluggo Seam, and Comebacks stress the deep thirds off the same shell. PA Read, PA Shot, and Mtn Pump And Go convert your run tendency into explosive shots, while HB Angle and Mtn HB Swing give the 3DRB-tagged back a matchup against a linebacker in space.
Read the safety rotation pre-snap. Single high means go to Four Verticals or Sluggo Seam with a seam hot route. Two high means take the underneath spacing with Stick or Mtn Z Spot and let the trips side out-leverage the flat defenders.
Motion the inside trips receiver across the formation to identify man versus zone, then keep the motion short so you can snap it on the move and pull a defender out of the box.
On second and medium and third and short, run HB Angle or Mtn HB Swing against linebacker coverage. The 3DRB tag means your back should be winning that matchup in space every time.
Use HB Draw and HB Slip Screen on obvious passing downs when the opponent is bringing five or more, especially after you have shown deep drops from this set two or three times.
Establish Inside Zone and Outside Zone early so PA Read and PA Shot get honest linebacker reactions, then take the shot when you see a single high shell with no deep help to the isolated side.
Block the running back or hot route him to a flat route when you see a nano blitz alignment, and slide protection toward the offset side to keep the pocket clean.
