RPO Read Slant Bubble out of Shotgun Wing Stack Wk pairs a backside slant from the stacked receivers with a bubble screen to the flat, giving the quarterback a true run/pass read tied directly to the alignment of the second level defender over the bubble. The line and backfield execute the zone run action while the QB keys the flat defender: if he sits inside on the run fit, the bubble is thrown immediately, if he widens to cover the bubble, the slant window opens up top. This is a run/pass option designed to punish light boxes and undisciplined flat defenders rather than a straight dropback concept, and the primary progression is bubble key first, slant window second, handoff read last.

As the defense, key the flat defender over the bubble immediately at the snap since his leverage determines the entire RPO read for the offense Sit at depth with the flat defender rather than crashing hard on run fits, since crashing opens the bubble for an easy completion Get a physical, press corner on the stacked slant receiver to disrupt his release and eliminate the top of the progression Show two high safeties to bait the QB into thinking zone, then rotate a robber underneath the slant to jump the route if he throws off the flat key Beware nano blitzes off the edge that remove the run fit defender, since that forces the offense into a hurried bubble throw you can jump with a user linebacker
Usage Tips
Presnap, identify the flat defender assigned to the bubble side since he is your entire conflict key for this RPO
Use this on early downs against base personnel to stress light boxes, since a light box triggers the run read while a crashing flat defender opens the bubble instantly
If the defense shows man coverage with the corner pressed on the stack, hot route the slant runner to a quick out to beat the trail technique
Pair this call with RPO Alert Bubble or RPO Peek Slant from the same set so the defense cannot sit on the bubble key without also fearing the alert shot
Save this for 2nd and short or 1st and 10 when defenses are more likely to sell out on the run fit, making the bubble or slant window bigger
