Defensive Reads
Key the middle linebacker depth at the snap, if he shows blitz or crashes downhill immediately the draw has a natural cutback lane. Watch for user-controlled defenders spying the backfield, a disciplined spy or lurking linebacker can blow this play up before the hole forms. Check safety alignment pre-snap, single high shells with aggressive run support are more vulnerable than two high shells that stay home. Look at defensive line gap discipline post-snap, if the line stunts or crashes hard off the edge the draw exploits the vacated interior gaps. Beware disciplined zone defenses that keep linebackers flowing slow and reading backfield action, this play struggles against teams that do not overcommit.

Call this after establishing quick game or verticals from Trio so the defense respects the pass shell and bites on the play fake pocket set.
Use it on early downs like first or second and medium to short yardage when defenses are more likely to blitz off the Shotgun Trio look.
Watch pre-snap for stacked boxes or shows of blitz since HB Draw thrives against overpursuit and disguised pressure packages.
Pair it in a sequence with Steeler Dig or Snag Slot Out to keep defenders honest on quick passing concepts before hitting the draw.
Avoid calling this into pure zone shells with light boxes since off-ball linebackers can sit and read the delayed handoff.
