Breakdown
Deep Post Out lines up five wide out of Empty Chips Nasty with two receivers bunched tight to each side. On the left, the inside receiver runs a quick out while the outside receiver runs a corner route breaking away from the sideline. On the right, the outside receiver pushes vertical before breaking into a deep post while the inside receiver runs a square out toward the sideline, and the slot receiver closest to the formation releases on a shallow out as well. This is a man beater built on natural picks from the bunch releases combined with a two level clear out on the right side, and with no running back in the backfield it is a pure empty passer concept. The primary read starts with the deep post on the right side to see if the safety bites on the out route underneath, then progresses to the corner route on the left if the post is capped.
Defensive Reads
Identify single high safety pre-snap since that tells you the deep post has a soft spot to work against in Cover 1 or Cover 3. Watch the flow of the safety at the snap, if he steps up to help on the underneath out route the post will be wide open behind him. Key the corner on the left side, if he sinks with the corner route instead of jumping the out underneath, the quick out becomes the checkdown throw. Look for user controlled defenders dropping into a deep middle lurk since that threatens the post route and can bait a costly interception if the quarterback does not see help arriving late. Recognize Cover 2 or Cover 4 shells pre-snap as the coverage that shuts this down hardest because two deep safeties can rob both the post and the corner routes on the same play.
Usage Tips
Check pre-snap for single high safety alignment since the deep post is designed to work best against Cover 3 or man coverage where the safety has to choose between the post and the underlying out route.
Use the right side out route as your hot route checkdown against pressure since it develops fastest and gets to the sideline quickly for positive yardage.
If you see two deep safeties pre-snap, look to the corner route on the left as your primary since Cover 4 or Cover 2 shells struggle to get width on that breaking angle.

Save this play for second and long or third and medium situations where you need a explosive gain and defenses are more likely to play deeper zone shells that open passing lanes to the post.
