This run beats base 4-3 and 3-4 fronts with light boxes but gets shut down by gap-sound defenses stacked with extra linebackers or a spy defender sitting in the mesh point area.

Usage Tips

Use pre-snap motion or a quick glance at the defensive front to identify if the defense is running an odd or even front, since Inside Zone hits differently against a 4-3 versus a 3-4 look.

Attack light boxes with 6 or fewer defenders in the box, this play struggles against stacked 8-man fronts.

Hot route a TE into a chip block or check him down as an outlet if the defense shows a heavy blitz look pre-snap.

Pair this play with Outside Zone in the same set to keep linebackers honest on flow direction, then mix in Read Option and PA Read off similar formation to punish overaggressive run fits.
