Defensive Reads
Watch linebacker depth pre-snap, if the Mike and Will are stacked tight behind the line they can beat the pullers to the point of attack and blow this up. Overloaded fronts to the play side with an extra defensive lineman shading the sweep gap will collapse this run before the pullers can get outside. Look for user-controlled defenders flowing hard downhill immediately at the snap, this is the biggest threat since a good user read can cut off the pulling guards before they seal the edge. Zone coverage shells with light boxes such as 4-3 or 3-4 base fronts in Cover 3 or Cover 4 are more vulnerable since fewer defenders are committed inside to chase the pull. If the defense shows an odd front with a nose lined up over center and edge defenders crashing down hard, expect this play to get strung out, consider bouncing it further outside or checking to a different run.

Check the box count pre-snap, if the defense has six or more in the box, consider checking to a passing concept from this set like Curl Flats or Z Spot instead.
Use this as a change of pace after running Inside Zone or Outside Zone a few times, since the pulling linemen create a different angle that linebackers flowing hard to zone runs will misread.
Hot route the backside TE to a chip or stay-in block if you are facing a heavy edge blitz look, this keeps contain honest on the backside.
Pair Buck Sweep with Read Option and HB Punch in the same series so linebackers cannot sit on one gap scheme, forcing them to respect both the pull action and the option keeper.
