Defensive Reads
Pre-snap, check linebacker depth and shade: stacked or crashing linebackers signal a scrape exchange or run blitz that can beat zone if you do not adjust your aiming point. Watch for a heavy box with 7 or more defenders, which shuts down this play since the double wing alignment already has limited perimeter blockers. Look at safety rotation: a single high safety with the other creeping down means the run fit is tighter and you should plan to cut back immediately. Post-snap, key the backside defensive end and linebacker flow: if they crash hard down the line, cut it back through the vacated backside gap. This play struggles against disciplined gap-control defenses and user-controlled linebackers who stay home and scrape over the top instead of overpursuing.

Attack light boxes (6 defenders or fewer) and avoid calling this into stacked fronts with extra linebackers showing blitz.
