Defensive Reads
Pre-snap, check for tight splits or bunch alignments from the offense, since those formations tend to overload one side and make the zone drops easier to diagnose and cover. Watch the offensive line splits for hints of a quick game or screen, since the line stunt can be vulnerable if the offense identifies the game up front and rolls protection away from it. Post-snap, key the quarterback's eyes to the middle of the field, since the seam window created by the linebacker zone drops is the primary area good quarterbacks will attack against this look. If the offense runs vertical routes from both outside receivers, trust your deep third defenders to stay disciplined and not bite on double moves, since the stunt up front is designed to speed up the throw.
