Overview
NFL Live Broncos Defense is functionally the same playbook as Broncos Defense. The two cuts share all 352 plays and differ by zero sets, so every formation, coverage and pressure package in one is in the other. Pick either one based on which label your franchise file or menu shows. You give up nothing by choosing one over the other.
The book is built around sub packages. Nickel carries 168 plays (48%) across 9 sets, and Dime adds 66 plays (19%) across 3 sets, so roughly two thirds of the playbook puts five or six defensive backs on the field. The 3-4 is the clear second pillar at 75 plays (21%) across 6 sets, including Base 3-4 and Base 5-2 looks that let you stay heavy against 12 and 21 personnel without losing your odd front identity. Everything else is situational: 15 plays of 4-3, 13 of Goal Line Defense across 3 sets, 9 of 4-4 and 6 of Prevent.
This supports a pass-first, pressure-and-disguise game plan. The concept list is dominated by coverage and pressure calls: Cover 1, Cover 1 Hole, Cover 3 and Cover 3 Sky shells, plus LB Blitz, Pinch and Line Stunt tags. Plays like 2 Invert Hard Flat, 0 LB Cross Games, 3 Deep Blitz and 1 Edge Pinch show the intent: roll coverage late, bring interior pressure from sub fronts, and stay in the Nickel and Dime personnel most online opponents force you into with spread sets.
Scheme Fit
NFL Live Broncos Defense wants a secondary deep enough to field five and six defensive backs every snap, ideally a slot corner with high man coverage and press ratings, plus safeties with range to play single-high Cover 1 and Cover 3 Sky. Up front it rewards quick twitch interior rushers and versatile linebackers who win on stunts and pinch games, and a 3-4 capable nose and edge group for the odd front packages. It fits a competitive player who expects to face spread 11 personnel, likes to user a hole or robber defender, and prefers disguised pressure over sitting in soft zone.

Strengths

- Pinch and Line Stunt tags paired with Cover 1 and Cover 3 shells let you user a linebacker or robber while the front generates pressure, a strong fit for players who manufacture sacks with stunts rather than pure numbers.
Weaknesses
- The 4-3 is limited to one set and 15 plays, so if you want a traditional four-down base against heavy personnel you will run out of looks quickly and become predictable.
- Goal Line Defense (13 plays) and 4-4 (9 plays in one set) are thin, which means opponents who live in 22 and 23 personnel or run power in the red zone can see your short-yardage calls repeat within a single game.
- With 67% of the book in Nickel and Dime, patient run offenses can keep you in lighter boxes and lean on inside zone and power against five and six defensive back personnel.
- The coverage concept list centers on Cover 1 and Cover 3 families, so there is little two-high variety to lean on against offenses that attack single-high safeties with seams, posts and four verticals.
- Prevent is only one set with 6 plays, so end-of-half and end-of-game situations rely on Dime and Big Quarter 3-1-7 calls that an opponent can learn to attack underneath.
Usage Tips
Build your main audible package around Nickel: one Cover 3 Sky call, one Cover 1 Hole call, one Pinch or Line Stunt pressure and one LB Blitz, so you can answer any 11 personnel look on first and second down without leaving the formation.
Call the 3-4 family (Base 3-4 and Base 5-2) on first and 10 or second and short against 12 and 21 personnel, and use LB Cross Games style pressure to attack inside zone before the offense can check out.
On third and 6 or longer, sub into Dime and alternate Big Dime 3-2-6 and Dime 4-1-6 so your pressure and coverage calls come from different personnel shells, then user the hole defender in Cover 1 Hole to take away crossers.
Save Goal Line Defense and the single 4-4 set for true short yardage and inside the 3 yard line, and mix in Pinch calls so you do not burn through the 22 total plays in those formations too early.
In two-minute situations, favor Dime Cover 3 and Big Quarter 3-1-7 over the lone Prevent set, and shade your safeties or hot the flats to limit easy underneath completions.
