Read the quarterback's eyes immediately after the snap since Cover 6 Willie is built to funnel throws into your underneath zone defenders on the three man side. Watch for offenses attacking the seam between the quarters safety and the outside corner, since a well timed post or deep out can split that zone if your rotation is late. Key the number two receiver's release pre-snap, if he stems vertically your safety needs to widen and get depth immediately to avoid getting beat over the top on the quarters side. Use Cover 6 Willie on early downs when you expect a balanced run pass look, since the three deep to two deep split gives you numbers to defend both boundary and field concepts.
