Dollar is a situational defensive playsheet built around one idea: flooding the field with defensive backs when the offense has to throw. All 30 plays come from the Dollar formation (100 percent of the sheet), split across two personnel sets, Big Dime 3-2-6 and Dime 3-2-6. With three down linemen, two linebackers and six defensive backs on every snap, this sheet is designed for obvious passing downs, two minute drills and empty or four wide looks, not for early down run defense.
Within that single front, the sheet covers a wide coverage menu: Cover 1, Cover 1 Robber, Press Man, Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4 and Cover 6, along with Zone Coverage calls, Blitz and LB Blitz pressures, Line Stunt looks and Contain calls. Sample plays such as 1 Double Wr1 show the double coverage intent: take away the offense's top target and make the quarterback work through his progression against six cover players. Because every call starts from the same Dollar alignment, you can disguise whether a snap is a two high zone, a single high man look or a pressure until the ball is snapped.
At 30 plays it is larger than only 21 percent of the game's 30 defensive franchise playsheets, so it sits toward the compact end of the pool. Choosing it gives you a focused third and long package where every call keeps six DBs on the field. What you give up is depth in other fronts, so it works best as a specialist sheet for passing situations, not a complete defensive identity.
Scheme Fit
Dollar wants a deep secondary: at least three corners with man coverage and press ability, safeties who can cover the slot or play in the box, and two linebackers with the speed to handle zone drops and blitz lanes. Up front, the three down linemen need good pass rush moves and finesse or power ratings, because Line Stunt and Contain calls have to generate pressure without extra rushers. It fits the coverage-first player who wants a dedicated passing down package to pair with a separate base sheet, not someone looking for one book to cover every situation.

Strengths
- Every snap keeps six defensive backs on the field, so you never get caught with a linebacker matched on a slot receiver when the offense goes empty or four wide on third and long.
- The single Dollar alignment lets you run Cover 1 Robber, Cover 4, Cover 6 and LB Blitz calls from an identical pre-snap picture, which makes reading the coverage before the snap much harder for the offense.
- Double coverage calls like 1 Double Wr1 let you bracket the opponent's primary receiver, a direct answer to players who lean on one go-to target in money downs.
- Two personnel sets (Big Dime 3-2-6 and Dime 3-2-6) let you swap coverage bodies through formation subs based on whether the offense is spread out or keeping bigger bodies on the field, without leaving the formation.
- Line Stunt and Contain calls give a three man front ways to generate pressure and keep scrambling quarterbacks in the pocket without committing extra rushers out of coverage.
Weaknesses
- With only three down linemen and two linebackers in every play, the sheet is exposed against the run, and opponents who spot the Dollar look can check to draws, inside zone or QB runs.
- One formation for all 30 plays means no base, Nickel or goal line fronts, so you have to leave this sheet or accept a light box when the offense brings in heavy personnel.
- The compact 30 play size (larger than only 21 percent of defensive franchise sheets) limits variety, so a patient opponent can learn your calls over a long game and pick up tendencies.
- Man coverage is limited to Cover 1, Cover 1 Robber and Press Man, so offenses that beat single high with mesh, crossers and rub concepts can find your answers quickly.
- A three man rush without a blitz gives quarterbacks time in the pocket, and over-using Blitz or LB Blitz calls leaves only five or four cover players behind the pressure despite the six DB personnel.
Usage Tips
Build your third and 7 plus audible package around Dollar in Dime 3-2-6, pairing a Cover 4 or Cover 6 call with a Cover 1 Robber and one LB Blitz so you can change the picture after seeing the offense's alignment.
Switch to the Big Dime 3-2-6 set when the offense keeps a tight end or back in on passing downs, since the extra safety body holds up better against bigger targets and checkdowns.
In two minute drills, lean on the Cover 2, Cover 3 and Cover 4 calls in Dollar to keep everything in front, and user a deep safety over the top rather than chasing plays near the line.
Call 1 Double Wr1 on third and medium against an opponent who forces the ball to his best receiver, then shade the remaining help or user the robber to take away the underneath option.
Use the Line Stunt and Contain calls against scrambling quarterbacks on third and long, and leave the sheet entirely on first down or short yardage where the light Dollar box gets run on.
