Usage Tips
Use this play on passing downs where you expect the offense to take a shot downfield since the extra rusher forces a quick decision from the quarterback.
Show pressure pre-snap by walking the strong safety toward the line so the offense has to guess if it is coming, then confirm your run fits with the linebackers before the snap.
Pair this with Cover 3 Sky or Cover 4 Quarters from the same set so your pre-snap safety alignment looks identical and quarterbacks cannot key blitz off safety depth.
If the offense audibles to trips or bunch formations, consider checking to Double Bracket or Cover 6 instead since the extra rusher can leave you outmanned against extra receivers to that side.
Time your blitz call for third and medium or third and long when the offense is more likely to release five or more receivers into routes, giving your man coverage defenders leverage against isolated route combos.
