Read the strong safety and outside linebacker on the boot side before the snap, if they are sitting flat footed in a zone drop that is a green light for the deep out or corner route. Watch for a user controlled defender flowing into the flat immediately after the snap, this is the biggest threat to the underneath option and usually signals a lurk trying to bait the throw.
