Breakdown

Slot Corner out of Singleback Doubles North sends the backside outside WR on a deep out breaking to the sideline while the inside slot receiver on that side runs a vertical corner route stacking behind him for a natural pick zone concept. On the strong side, the TE runs a deep dig across the middle and the outside WR climbs a corner route to the opposite sideline, while the RB releases into the flat on a check release swing route underneath everything. This is a man beater built to stress corners in trail technique and to create natural picks against zone drops, with the primary read starting on the backside deep out into the corner combo before working to the strong side dig and finally checking down to the flat if the top of the play is covered.

Defensive Reads

Watch for two deep safeties pre-snap, which signals the defense is protecting against the corner routes and may leave the shallow dig or flat open underneath If the cornerback aligns in press man on the outside WR, expect the backside natural pick to spring the receiver open on the corner route Key linebacker depth at the snap, since shallow linebacker drops can jump the TE dig route and bait an interception A user controlled safety sitting in a deep half or lurking in the middle of the field is the biggest threat to both corner routes, so track that defender before releasing the ball Man coverage with no safety help over the top is when this play hits hardest, while a Cover 4 or Cover 6 shell with disciplined deep zone defenders will take away both corner routes and force the checkdown

Usage Tips

Attack this from a passing down and distance like second or third and medium where you need a chunk play but still have a checkdown safety valve

Pre-snap identify if the corners are showing man press, since the natural pick combo on the backside gives you a clean rub against man coverage

If the defense shows two high safeties, key the corner route into the boundary as your first read since it stresses the cornerback with no help over the top

Hot route the RB to a flat or wheel route against zone heavy shells to give yourself an extra layer if the deep routes are blanketed

Pair this play with Curl Drag or Stick in your sequencing to keep the defense guessing between quick game and vertical shots off the same Doubles North look
