Defensive Reads

Usage Tips

Check the safety alignment pre-snap, if you see one high safety shaded to the post side, take the shot down the field immediately on the snap. Against two-high shells, work the mesh underneath since the crossers naturally lose linebackers and off corners in man coverage. Use motion or a quick pre-snap read on the strong side to confirm man versus zone, if defenders shift to trail the cluster receivers it is man coverage and mesh will hit clean. Hot route the RB seam route into a flat or check release when facing a heavy blitz look to give the quarterback an immediate answer versus pressure. Pair this play with Mesh Whip and Z Spot Shake in the same set to keep defenders guessing between mesh crossers and out breaking combos, then mix in Verticals as a shot play from the same formation to punish defenses selling out on the short mesh look.
