WR Corners aligns out of Shotgun Tight Flex with two receivers to the boundary and one to the field, plus a TE releasing from the slot. Both outside receivers push vertical before breaking into corner routes toward the sideline, the slot TE runs a quick out to the flat, and the backside receiver runs a shallow drag underneath. This is a man beater built on high low corner stems that stretch the sideline vertically while the drag gives you a hot underneath answer against soft zone drops. Primary progression starts with the corner route to the single receiver side, then works to the TE flat route as the checkdown against underneath coverage.
Pre snap identify if the safeties are showing two high or rotating to single high since two deep shells force the corner routes into tighter throwing windows. Watch the flat defender to the TE side, if he sinks with the corner route the TE out is wide open in the void. Man coverage with no safety help over the top gets beat easily by both corner routes running away from defenders. Zone coverage with a hard flat drop can undercut the TE route, so key the linebacker or slot corner depth before releasing your first read. Blitz packages that bring five or six rushers force a quick decision, so read the drag route immediately if protection breaks down and there is no time to let the corners develop.
Attack single high safety shells since both corner routes occupy the deep quarters or deep third defenders and create natural pick concepts against man coverage. Use pre-snap motion or a hot route on the drag to turn it into a quick outlet if you see a blitz look with only five in the box. Best called on 2nd or 3rd and long when you need to stretch the field and still have a checkdown if the corners are covered. Pair this with Frisco or Mtn Y Cross earlier in a drive so defenders start jumping the corner route stems, then hit the drag or Falcon Cross concept off the same formation for an easy conversion. Look to throw the corner route with anticipation before the receiver breaks since cornerbacks in man will undercut the route if you wait.
