Defensive Reads

Watch the single high safety depth pre-snap, if he cheats toward one side it tips the direction of help over the top for your man corners. Post-snap, key on any receiver working to the vacated blitz gap, that space becomes a hot route window if the offense identifies the extra rusher. This beats teams that rely on timing based spot drops or slow developing zone concepts since the added rusher collapses the pocket before those routes mature. Empty backfield sets and quick slot screens can shut this down fast, so key the backfield alignment before the snap and be ready to bail into a safer coverage if you see max protect empty looks.
