Pinch Buck 0 is a Cover 0 all-out man blitz out of the 3-4 Tite 5t set, Base 5-2 personnel. The diagram shows the defensive line pinching down inside with the interior rushers crashing hard toward the A and B gaps while both linebackers (shown as the two dots) key the backfield with green dog or spy responsibilities before triggering downhill. All four cornerbacks and the slot defenders play press or tight man coverage with zero deep safety help, so the primary read progression is simple: identify the free rusher created by the pinch and win before the quarterback can get through his first read.
Pre-snap, check safety depth: if both safeties are shown deep with no rotation indicator, the offense likely does not expect zero coverage, giving you a free blitz window. Watch running back alignment and protection sets, since a back staying in to chip or block signals the offense anticipates pressure and may be running a hot route or quick game beater. Post-snap, key any late motion or shift, as offenses will often use jet motion or a return motion to identify man coverage and attack the vacated space with a bubble screen or quick out. This play gets beaten by quick game concepts like slants, stick, or hitches thrown before the pinch rushers get home, so if the quarterback has a rhythm passing game, do not overuse this call. Watch for user-controlled receivers running deep crossers or corner routes, since with no safety help a blown man matchup or pick play can result in an explosive gain or touchdown.
Call this on obvious passing downs like 3rd and long when you expect the offense to max protect or run empty, since Cover 0 leaves no safety help over the top.
Pre-snap, check the offensive formation for trips or bunch sets that can create natural rub routes against your man corners, and consider a quick audible into Cover 1 Robber Press from this same set if you see a stack or bunch alignment.
Use the interior pinch to your advantage against zone-blocking run teams, since the line movement clogs inside run lanes before backers scrape downhill.
Disguise this call by showing Cover 3 Sky or Cover 4 Quarters pre-snap, then rotating down into the Cover 0 look at the snap to bait the quarterback into a bad read.
Pair this play in sequence with Weak Blitz 1 or Weak Blitz 3 from the same Tite 5t set so quarterbacks cannot key blitz direction off your linebacker depth alone.
