Mlb Cross Fire 3 is a five man pressure package out of the Tite 5t 3-4 that drops into Cover 3 zone behind a crossing line stunt up front. The two interior rushers loop and cross paths through the middle of the line while the edge defenders squeeze inside, designed to confuse the offensive line's blocking assignments and free up an interior rusher. Behind the stunt, three deep defenders sink into thirds while the underneath zone defenders wall off the shallow crossers, making this a zone based blitz package meant to disguise pressure while still protecting against explosive plays over the middle. The primary read is the interior line stunt: identify which rusher wins first through the cross, then play the quarterback's eyes to the deep third responsible for the throw he is forced into.
Watch the offensive line splits and running back alignment pre-snap to confirm they are not sliding protection toward your stunt side, which can neutralize the interior cross. Post-snap, key the quarterback's first movement: if he hitches up in the pocket he is feeling the interior pressure, which is your cue to squeeze passing lanes with the underneath zone defenders. This beats quick game man beater concepts and shallow crossers because the underneath defenders sit in zone windows rather than chasing receivers man to man. It is vulnerable to well timed screens and RPO give reads since the crossing rushers vacate their run fits, so watch for offensive line pulling and stay disciplined if you see run action toward the boundary. Elite scramblers can exploit the seam created by the line stunt if the rush does not finish, so contain the middle of the pocket if you are user rushing an interior defender.
Call this on early downs or second and medium when you expect base personnel and want to disguise pressure without fully committing to man coverage. Show a standard Tite 5t front pre-snap so the offense cannot immediately identify the stunt coming from the interior. Use the line stunt to bait quick game slants and hitches, since the crossing rushers create natural rush lanes if the offensive line slides protection the wrong way. Pair this with Cover 3 Sky or Cover 3 Hard Flat from the same set so quarterbacks cannot key your shell from split second post snap movement. If you are user rushing, take control of one of the crossing interior linemen to manually time the stunt and finish the rush lane yourself instead of letting the CPU logic beat blocks.
