This is a zone beater at its core since the glance route sits down in the throwing lane vacated by linebackers flowing to stop the run, and the primary read progression goes run key first, then glance, then peek as the emergency outlet if the defender sits on the glance.

Usage Tips
Check the box count before the snap and if the defense is showing six or more in the box, lean toward pulling the glance immediately instead of testing the run fit
Identify single high versus two high shells pre-snap since single high safeties tend to trigger downhill on run action which opens the glance window big
Hot route the backside peek receiver into a deeper option route against teams that sit their linebackers to remove the quick throw
Use this on early downs in normal distance to keep defenses honest, then sequence into Read Option or Inside Zone from the same set so the defense cannot sit on the RPO key
Pair with RPO Glance Post later in a series once the defense adjusts to taking away the shallow glance, forcing the second level defender to respect the deeper shot
