Behind the pressure, three deep zone defenders split the field into thirds and two underneath defenders wall off the flats, making this a zone beater designed to disguise pressure while still protecting against explosive plays over the top.
Defensive Reads
Watch the running back and tight end release patterns immediately after the snap, since the underneath defenders are keying quick throws into the flat and short middle. If the offense runs empty or spreads five wide, the loop stunt can be slower to develop, so be ready to spy or contain scrambling quarterbacks. This call beats teams that rely on quick game and RPOs because the disguised zone shell holds up against hitches and slants while pressure still arrives.
