Full House Pro is the base run play out of the Full Panther set's Pistol formation, built around a triple back look with two lead blockers stacked behind the quarterback. This is a run play designed to attack downhill with a fullback and halfback both available to lead through the hole, giving the offense a numbers advantage at the point of attack. The primary read is the play side double team at the line, with the running back keying the fullback's lead block to decide between the called hole and a cutback lane if the backside pursuit overcommits.
Look for the defense stacking the box with eight or more defenders, which signals they expect the run and will clog the primary running lane. Watch linebacker depth before the snap: linebackers sitting tight to the line at four yards or less are keying run and will flow hard to the called gap, so be ready to cut back. This play struggles against gap-control defenses and stacked fronts like 46 Bear or heavy 4-3 looks with an extra linebacker, since the blocking scheme cannot consistently win one-on-one battles against extra defenders in the box. It beats light boxes and defenses in nickel or dime personnel that are geared up to stop the pass, since the fullback lead block can seal off a single second level defender easily. Post-snap, key the play side linebacker's first step: if he flows hard outside to string out the play, cut inside behind the fullback, and if he sits in the hole, bounce it outside using the pulling blocker as a lead.
Use Full House Pro on early downs like first and ten or second and short when you want to establish tempo and force the defense to respect the run out of Pistol. Check the box count pre-snap: if the defense has six or fewer in the box, this play has a numbers advantage and should hit for positive yards even against base fronts. Pair this play with Read Option and Triple Option from the same set so the defense cannot key on formation tendencies, since all three plays share the same Pistol look but attack different gaps. If the defense shows a heavy blitz look with linebackers crashing downhill pre-snap, consider audibling to Slants or PA Boot Rt to catch overaggressive defenders out of position. Run this play in short yardage or goal line situations where the extra blocker in the backfield can seal off a single gap for a tough conversion.
