Both cornerbacks carry the outside receivers vertically while the slot corner and a linebacker cross underneath, and the safety over the deep middle bails to the middle third to protect the post. Defensive Reads
Presnap, identify the running back's protection assignment, since a blitzing quarterback in the shotgun with a back staying in to block signals the offense expects pressure and may have a hot route ready. Use the slot corner blitz to your advantage against quick game and hitches, since the underneath crosser can undercut a slant or drag route before the quarterback even sees the extra rusher.
Pair this play in sequence with Cover 3 Buzz and Cover 1 Robber from the same set so quarterbacks cannot key blitz tells off your presnap alignment.
