The Strong Safety walks down to disguise pressure but bails into coverage while the front generates a simulated rush, creating a zone beater that confuses quarterbacks reading the mug alignment as an all out blitz. Primary read progression starts with the underneath flat and curl defenders to see how the offense reacts to the disguised pressure, then works to the deep half safety to diagnose if the offense is attacking the void left by the sim pressure look.
Watch the quarterback eyes immediately after the snap since sim pressure baits quick decisions into the flat or curl zones Key on the running back release since offenses often check to a check release or quick out against perceived blitz looks If the offense runs empty or spreads four wide, expect hot routes into the middle voids left by the walked down safety This play struggles against play action rollouts since the zone drops can be manipulated by the rollout action and misdirection User the deep half safety to erase any vertical shots down the middle since the coverage shell rotates late and can be exploited by a fast go route
