PA Flood H-Corner is a play-action flood concept out of Shotgun Go Go Twins Flex with 21 personnel. Off the run fake, the outside receiver runs a deep go route to clear the top of the coverage while the slot receiver sits down on an out breaking route at the sticks, and the H-back releases underneath to the flat as the third level of the flood to that same side. The backside features a deep dig or crossing route working from the opposite numbers all the way across the field, giving you a true three level stretch to the flood side and a late crosser as a change up read. This is a Cover 3 beater by design, overloading one half of the field so the flat defender and deep third defender cannot both be right, with the primary read progression going from the deep go to the intermediate out to the flat, then working back to the backside crosser if the flood side is taken away.
Pre-snap, identify whether the defense is showing single high safety with the corner to the flood side playing off, which is the shell most vulnerable to this concept since the deep third defender cannot cover both the go route and the out breaking route. Watch the flat defender or curl to flat linebacker immediately after the snap, if he sinks with the play action fake instead of gaining width to the flood side you have an easy throw to the intermediate out or the flat route. Key the deep safety rotation post snap, if the single high safety cheats hard to the flood side to help the corner, the backside crossing route will come open behind him in the vacated middle of the field. Watch for a user controlled defender dropping into a lurk position underneath the crosser or jumping the out route route, since disciplined user play at the second level is the main way this concept gets shut down. Be wary of a Cover 2 or Cover 4 shell with two deep safeties, since the go route loses value when there is help over the top, in that case the intermediate out and flat combination on the flood side becomes the primary answer instead of the deep shot.
Use pre-snap motion or a look at safety alignment to confirm you are getting a single high or two high shell before the snap, since this concept is built to punish single high Cover 3 rotations. If the corner to the flood side is playing hard outside leverage, hot route the H-back flat route into a quicker option or check to the flat sooner since the out and go stacked on top of each other will hold the corner and safety. Against man coverage, look immediately to the backside dig or crossing route since the flood concept loses some value when defenders can simply run with their assigned receiver instead of sitting in zone drops. This play works best on second and medium to second and long or first down situations where you can afford a play fake to hold the linebackers before the flood routes develop. Pair this call with HB Lead Draw or HB Counter from the same set so the defense has to respect the run fake, then come back to this same formation with Mesh Traffic or Texas X-Choice to attack underneath if the defense starts jumping the flood routes.
