Watch safety depth before the snap, a single high safety often means the box is loaded and more susceptible to the touch pass since defenders are reading run first. Post-snap, key the flow of the middle linebacker, if he sprints laterally to defend the jet sweep he vacates the touch pass throwing lane completely. This play struggles against defenses that stay home with contain defensive ends and keep linebackers square, since disciplined edge players can jump the touch route. Check the flow of the linebackers pre-snap during the jet motion, if they crash hard toward the sweep side the touch window opens up instantly after the fake.
Hot route the backside receiver into a quick out or slant if the defense shows two high safeties and plays soft, since that removes a defender from the touch pass lane.
