Every call you make comes from the same pre-snap alignment, so the offense reads the identical shell whether you are rotating to Cover 9, dropping into Quarters, or sending a Safety Blitz. The sample play 1 Double Slot shows the kind of slot-matched alignment the sheet is built around.
Within that one formation, the coverage menu is surprisingly wide. You get Cover 1, Cover 2, Cover 3, Cover 4, Cover 6 and Cover 9, plus Trap Coverage, generic Zone Coverage, and pressure packages that split between LB Blitz and Safety Blitz. That supports a disguise-first game plan: show two high, then rotate late into single high Cover 3 or Cover 9, or bait a quick throw into Trap Coverage. Because Big Nickel keeps a third safety on the field instead of a nickel corner, the sheet can play the run out of a five-DB look without subbing personnel.
Choosing Red Storm 4-2-5 over a larger sheet trades formation variety for clarity. You learn one alignment deeply, you know exactly which sets hold your pressure and which hold your split safety shells, and your audible package can cover nearly the whole book. It suits a franchise player who wants a tight, repeatable defensive identity against spread and 11 personnel offenses rather than a sprawling menu of fronts.
Red Storm 4-2-5 wants three quality safeties, ideally one with strong Zone Coverage and Pursuit to play deep rotations and one physical box safety with Tackle, Block Shedding and Play Recognition to hold up against the run and win as a blitzer. Pair that with two rangy linebackers who can carry seams in Cover 2 and Cover 3, a four man line that generates pressure without help, and corners comfortable in both press Cover 1 and bail Cover 3. It fits a disguise-minded franchise player who faces mostly spread offenses and would rather master one alignment than juggle multiple fronts.

Build your audible package inside the 4-2-5 around 1 Double Slot and its set: one Cover 3 or Cover 9 call, one Cover 6 or Quarters call, one Trap Coverage call, and one Safety Blitz or LB Blitz, so every down has an answer without leaving the formation.
On 1st and 10 against 11 personnel, sit in Cover 6 or Cover 4 Quarters to take away the deep shot and make the offense earn yards underneath.
On 2nd or 3rd and short, call Trap Coverage or Cover 2 to jump quick outs and flats, and user the rolled safety to rob the hitch.
On 3rd and 7 or longer, show two high and send the Safety Blitz or LB Blitz, then rotate to Cover 1 or Cover 3 behind it so the quarterback reads a split safety look that is not there.
Against heavy personnel, crash your line and user the box safety in the 4-2-5 rather than hunting for a bigger front, since this sheet does not have one.
