Franchise exports
Export every week
Automatic with Export from EA, three boxes with the Companion App. Not set up yet? Start with the Export from EA setup guide or the Companion App setup guide.
After you play or sim a week, your league needs an export. With Export from EA it happens automatically after each advance and game. Press Update league if you want one right now: it sends the week you just played, the week you are in, rosters and standings together.
With the Companion App, export three things: Weekly Stats for the week you just played, plus Rosters and League Info as your league stands right now. Rosters and League Info ignore the week selector. Weekly Stats is the only export tied to a week, so it must point at the week that was just played.
Already advanced to the next week? Same export. Update league still picks up the week you just played. With the Companion App, keep Weekly Stats pointed at the previous week. Rosters and League Info capture the league as it is now either way.
With Export from EA
- Madden Tools exports your league on its own after each advance, and after each game played in the week you are in. Once your first Load full season is done, there is nothing to click from week to week. Want an export right now? Click Update league on the Export from EA card in your Commissioner Hub, or run /export-now in a linked Discord server. There is no week to choose: one export carries the week you just played, the week you are in, next week's schedule, rosters, standings and free agents.
- The card lists what arrived when the export finishes, usually within a minute or two. Your league pages update a couple of minutes after that.
With the Companion App
- Open the app, pick your league, then League then Export, and paste your export URL (the app doesn't remember it between sessions).
- Set the week dropdown to the week you just played, check all three options, WEEKLY STATS + LEAGUE INFO + ROSTERS, and export. The stats fill that week's game columns, and your rosters and standings fill the next row down: your league entering the following week.
- Each row is your league entering that week. Rosters and League Info always capture your league as it stands right now (the week dropdown does not apply to them), so they land on the row for the week you are entering, whether you export before or after advancing. If you sim past a week without exporting, that week's roster and standings history is gone for good. Simming several weeks? Export after each one; you can fire them back-to-back and every week's history is kept.
Start of every season
Export from EA: click Load full season on the card in your Commissioner Hub. That loads every week's schedule and everything your league has played so far, and it is also the right first export for a league that is brand new to Madden Tools. Madden Tools does not run it on its own, so press it once at the start of every season. Give it a minute or two.
Companion App: two exports in this order, before playing anything.
- First: all three options, on preseason week 1. With the dropdown on preseason week 1, check all three export options together: WEEKLY STATS + LEAGUE INFO + ROSTERS, and export once. That captures the season's opening state (draft results, opening rosters, team ratings), fills the Preseason 1 row in the export status table, and loads preseason week 1's schedule, all in one export. Do this before the next step: the opening state can never be recovered later.
- Then: WEEKLY STATS only, for the future weeks. Once that first export is done, pre-load the rest of the schedule: using the week dropdown, export WEEKLY STATS on its own for each remaining week: preseason week 2 onward through regular-season week 18, one at a time. Except regular-season week 4: check LEAGUE INFO along with WEEKLY STATS (a Companion App bug can drop it otherwise). Wait to export playoff week schedules until the playoffs. The matchups don't exist until the seeding is set.
Playoffs and the Super Bowl
Playoffs: as soon as you sim into each playoff week (Wild Card onward), export at the start of the week: Export from EA does it on its own after the advance (or click Update league for one right now), and with the Companion App export WEEKLY STATS for that week. That's what loads the round's matchups into the schedule (they can't be pre-loaded; the seeding doesn't exist until the round begins). Then export again after playing, like any other week.
Super Bowl: export right after the game and BEFORE advancing when your team plays it. That's the zero-risk path. If your team isn't in the Super Bowl, simming it advances you straight into the offseason; that's okay. Export again from offseason week 1 (Update league, or the Companion App) and the full game comes through, score and box stats. Do it before advancing any deeper into the offseason.
Companion App quirks
After every week you play or sim, export with all three boxes checked: WEEKLY STATS, LEAGUE INFO, and ROSTERS. Leave Auto Export off. If LEAGUE INFO is skipped, your standings freeze and your power rankings fall behind, even though game results keep arriving.
- Preseason week 4 has no games, so its export errors. That's normal.
- If regular-season week 4 looks incomplete, re-export it with LEAGUE INFO and WEEKLY STATS checked together (a widely reported app bug).
- Never use "All Weeks" in the Companion App. It exports junk.
- The free agents export always fails (an EA bug); free agency is derived from your roster exports instead.
These notes grow as new Companion App quirks are found.
